Talent Vault was founded by Steve Gillingwater, our CEO who actively works in and provides direction to the business on a daily basis.
Steve commenced his IT career in 1981, working in leading IT Management and Project Management positions
After gaining a great appreciation of the diverse skills and talents of people working in IT, Steve entered the IT recruitment industry in 1998 and rapidly rose to become the IT Associate Director at a well-respected international recruitment company.
Steve wanted to stamp his own personality and style on IT recruitment and to build a more agile, cost effective model for his clients, with this in mind, Talent Vault a boutique local New Zealand recruitment company was born in May 2009.
At Talent Vault, Steve has been able to build a highly specialised team of recruitment consultants who bring their own passions and resources to support candidates and clients in a wide range of roles.
The current team has over 70 years combined of hands-on and relevant IT, Project Management and Business experience.
Recognising the overseas trends towards the “freelancer economy” as a result of advances in the global digital age, mobility of people and the new regime of independent workers who want flexibility, Steve recognised the massive gap in the New Zealand market for a local agile, responsive recruitment company that specialises in sourcing and placing highly professional contractors and so Talent Vault Contracting was born.
Early in 2016, intent to be top of mind as the #1 IT Contractor Recruitment company. We change our name to Talent Vault Contracting. Our vision is to be the contracting recruitment company of choice. Results to date would suggest we are well on our way. Talent Vault are often requested to help their clients with permanent needs and we are happy to oblige.
